HTC Jumps into the World of Tablet Competition with Its FlyerHTC, a Taiwan–based handset manufacturer with its new Flyer enters the world of competition with companies like Apple iPad, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, Blackberry Playbook with its “tablet”. The tablet inspite of being small in size had the qualities of PC.

The seven- inch HTC Flyer was being launched in India and was priced at Rs 39,890. The tablet market had received a boom with the launch made by Apple‘s iPad. The tablet PC section in India was expected to touch 1 million units as per the analysis of financial experts.

The new HTC Flyer consisted of 1024x600 resolution tablet; it did not run on Google’s operating system Honeycomb but on the Google’s Gingerbread operating system. It had the 1.5GHz single core processor consisting of NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz dual core processor. The device had 32GB storage and 1GB of RAM. The device had a camera of 5 mega pixel at its back and a 1.3 mega pixel camera at its front. The phone had a pen to draw and write. The hone also had special features like HTC Watch, HTC's new video download service.

The phone Flyer had all the features in it that were in demand these days but does it really complement its price tag was yet to be known.
