Castrol Heads Gainers In 'A' Group at BSE
Castrol India zoomed 11.03% to Rs 280.35 and lead gainers path in BSE's ‘A’ group shares. The scrip beat up after the company declared adequate Q2 June 2007 results. The other gainers list includes Reliance Energy, Dena Bank, Jindal Stainless, Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren.
Castrol’s net earnings climbed up 31.05% to Rs 65.93 crore in Q2 June 2007 against Q2 June 2006. Sales climbed 13.26% to Rs 540.05 crore in Q2 June 2007 from Q2 June 2006.
Reliance Energy came up 8.46% to Rs 775.30 and placed second among top gainers in ‘A’ group. The scrip lifted on reports that the company is making discussions with commodity exchanges, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and the National Commodity Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), to gather up equity stake in two power exchanges planned to be established by them.
Dena Bank climbed up 6.88% to Rs 59.80 and stood third among top gainers in ‘A’ group. The bank will announce Q1 June 2007 results on 26 July 2007.
Jindal Stainless arose 5.87% to Rs 164.05 and came fourth in the middle of top gainers in ‘A’ set. The scrip has valued about 8% over the last two days after it announced its Q1 June 2007 results in the trading hours.
The company’s net income arose 62.6% to Rs 82.60 crore in Q1 June 2007 as against Q1 June 2006. Sales jumped 40% to Rs 1196.82 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. Its exports developed by 56% whereas domestic sales ascended by 32% in the quarter.
Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren benefited 5.54% to Rs 262 and positioned fifth among top gainers in ‘A’ group. Its net profit jumped 163.50% to Rs 69.30 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. Sales rose 50.50% to Rs 806.70 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. The company announced Q1 results on 19 July 2007.
