Sensex Remains Weak; Down 27.08 PtsIndian bourses remained weak during early trade today.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which belled the day at 17,603.29, was trading 27.08 points down to trade at 17,565.69 as against its last closure at 17,592.77.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was ruling 0.06% down at 5,256.6.

The BSE midcap index slipped 0.37% and the BSE small cap index remained down by 0.25%.

On Wednesday, Indian stock markets ended on a weak note for a second successive day, following declinations in Asian bourses and weighed by hefty selling activity by funds across segments.

Nervous shareholders dumped scrips of firms perceived to have feeble business governance standards, accompanying the arrest of DB Realty's creator in his link with the investigation into the allegedly inappropriate telecom spectrum allotment.

Companies established by Indian billionaire Anil Ambani and some property developers witnessed the acutest falls.

The BSE's Sensitive Index declined 1.0% to shut the shop at 17,592.77. in contrast, the National Stock Exchange, the 50-stock S&P CNX Nifty dropped 1.1% to end the day at 5,253.55.

The majority of Asian bourses ended lower. Hong Kong's Hang Seng and Korea's Kospi remained down by 1.4% and 1.2% respectively and China's Shanghai Composite slipped 0.9%.
