Jet Airways (India) Ltd, India's top carrier by market share, plans to repay about Rs 1,000 of debt each fiscal and is also looking to prepay some of its high-cost rupee debt. The company is looking to prepay its high-cost debt amounting to between Rs 2,000 and Rs 3,000 crore debts. Jet Airways has a total debt of around Rs 13,000 crore.
National Aluminium Company (Nalco), the country's second-largest aluminium producer, may invest about Rs 700 crore for picking up stake in two mines of state-run Hindustan Copper and a detailed framework on strategic alliance is likely next week. The development comes ahead of the copper miner's share sale, which would see disinvestment of 10% paid-up equity capital out of the government's shareholding in Hindustan Copper along with issue of fresh equity of an equal size by the firm.
Auto parts maker Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd plans to spend about Rs 5 billion in 2011-12 to expand capacity, its chief operating officer said on Thursday. The company plans to commission six plants in India, Hungary and South Africa in 2011. The company earlier reported a 41% rise in consolidated profit in Oct-Dec to Rs 1.06 billion and a 17% growth in sales to Rs 20.83 billion.
DTH major Dish TV will accept 'Aadhaar' -- a 12-digit unique number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) -- as a Know Your Customer (KYC) validation for address and identity proof. The DTH operator will acknowledge the UID number of all Aadhaar holders as an 'officially valid document' for installation and subscription purposes of its services.

India's coalition government is battling high food prices, largely a result of a spurt in the cost of vegetables -- as harvests were hit by rains -- and dairy products. Food inflation in Asia's third-largest economy rose 17.05% in the year to January 22, while the fuel price index climbed 11.61%.
