India might develop third Antarctic station in 2012

Kapil-SibalIndia's third permanent station in Antarctica, "Bharati", would soon be developed and fully functionally running accommodating 70 scientists and claimed that the back satellite pictures on ocean conditions back home in real time.

A shipment carrying heavy apparatus in the Antarctica will be constructed at a cost of Rs 200 crore, "Bharati" and at the same time with an accompanying earth station to acquire satellite images and transmitting them back to India in actual time. It is further claimed that the Larsemann Hills on the eastern coast of Antarctica.

"The new station will have modern facilities and connectivity like a regular living space," said Union Science Minister Kapil Sibal after remotely stating the foundation stone of "Bharati" at a function here. Facilities at Maitri are upgraded claimed that the third station, India is gathering its strength on the icy continent.

According to recent scientific studies immediate objectives, the actual reason that the norm is at sharing the oil and mineral resources when the Antarctica treaty would be an open for review.

At the recent moment no nation can help develop Antarctica resources, which were further claimed as the common heritage of the mankind.
