Dental Implants Cut Down The Cost By Over 60%A group of Indian researchers have developed a titanium based implant for replacing missing tooth.

The new implant not only put back the lost tooth, but also increases the chewing capacity of tooth as it could have been possible with natural tooth.

The research carried out in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi got completed after five years.

The cost of the newly developed dental treatment has been reduced by more than 60 percent.

The currently available treatment for putting artificial tooth costs around Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000, but the new dental implant will cost a patient only Rs 7,000.

The latest figures revealed that around 30% of the population in India above 70 is suffering from dental problems.

Lead researcher Professor Mahesh Varma said that the cheap implants will help those who can not afford fixed full mouth rehabilitation in India.

The artificial dental plates have some limitations, but fixed implants grow naturally within the bone.
