Maruti Suzuki sales up 29 p.c. in July
Maruti Suzuki India, India’s largest car maker, reportedly had a rise of 29.18 percent in its sales for July with 1,00,857 units sold. Last year July had seen the company’s vehicles make 78,074, and this is the second time this fiscal that the one lakh mark has been crossed.
MSI has also hit its best figure so far in the domestic market for July with 90,114 units, which is 33.45 percent more than its 67,528 units in July last year. Even the exports of the company rose by 1.87 percent as its exports went up to 10,743 units from 10,546 units last year.
However though, the Maruti 800 model’s sales have declined by 39.91 per cent to 1,680 units as against 2,796 units in July last year.
On the other hand, the A2 segment – the Alto, WagonR, Estilo, Swift, A-Star and the Ritz saw a 33.18 percent rise with 64,079 units as against 48,115 units in July last year.
The total sales of the sedans, i. e. the SX4s and DZiREs have increased by 13.75 percent at 10,352 units compared to 9,101 units in July last year.
The total passenger car sales of MSI went up by 33.30 percent with 89,728 sales.
