A report on Apple & AT&T lawsuit

A report on Apple & AT&T lawsuitThe recent report stated by federal judge claims that a monopoly lawsuit filed in lieu of Apple and network carrier AT&T’s is considered to be a class action, as stated by the Associated Press.

The lawsuit will take in consideration of a number of lawsuits filed by iPhone customers that date back to 2007, soon after the proclamation of Apple's first iPhone model, and at the same time stop the trade of locked iPhones that can be used on AT&T’s networks only.

In addition to this the deal with AT&T speaks of company’s control over the applications which can be placed over iPhone and it is believed that Apple has “secretly” extended an exclusivity deal with AT&T for another five years.

According to the lawsuit: “Consumers agreed to two-year contracts with the Dallas-based wireless carrier when they purchased their phones, but were in effect locked into a five-year relationship with AT&T”.

It further explains that the association with the two companies has resulted into offering a competition that gives out higher purchase prices for consumers.
