Intel Inks MoU For Educational Excellence In NortheastTechnology giant Intel has inked a memorandum of understand (MoU) for educational and technology excellence in northeast India with a governmental panel, which takes care of the financial and social growth of the region.

According to the MoU signed with the North Eastern Council (NEC), Intel will work on training selected tutors in each of the eight northeastern states.

An Intel statement said, "This is to create onsite sustainable resources to help classroom teachers develop student centered learning."

President Intel India Praveen Vishakantaiah said that the region had huge prospective for technology.

"There is a tremendous potential for technology to transform lives in northeast India. We believe that education is the enabler and connectivity is the key driver for this transformation," he said.

He added that the company had come up with a variety of proposals to integrate technology in teaching and learning process, guaranteeing inclusive growth and development of human resource, which is most promising development asset of the northeast (region).

Intel Education has trained more than 12.5 lakh teachers in the country. (With Inputs from Agencies)
