Dr. Andreas Schaaf in BMW India’s driver seat

Andreas-SchaafAfter Peter Kronschabl, President, BMW India will soon head for Moscow to head BMW's Russia operations; it is now the turn of Dr. Andreas Schaaf to take control at the reins of the company.

While the company is still very much confident of retaining its #1 spot in the Indian market, the journey for Schaaf will not be easy by any means.

It is believed that after BMW established its India office in 2006 it was the aggressiveness of Kronschabl that has taken the German luxury carmaker to surpass the once undisputed leader Mercedes in the Indian market.

Schaaf recently said in his media interaction that it will be hard to retain the top spot in the Indian luxury car market but the company is taking it as a challenge.

Moreover, Schaaf also highlighted the fact that since the consumer studies reflect that BMW is the strongest brand in the Indian market in the luxury car segment, it will help the company grow faster in the coming times.

While Schaaf holds a doctoral thesis in Business Administration from the University of Bayreuth, Germany, his experience in the past ion various global markets may prove handy for the luxury carmaker in the Indian market.
