Toyota may export Etios to Europe
While the Indian subsidiary of the global market leader, Toyota Motor Corporation has made it very clear that the company will be selling the hatchback Etios first in the Indian market and will then initiate its plans to export the product, the company is expecting to target Europe as one of its first export destinations.
The company showcased its small car in the 10th auto expo last year and is planning to launch it by the end-2010 or early 2011.
However, the company believes that the European countries will be a profitable proposition for the export of these products as the companies enjoy high margins in these countries. Shekhar Vishwanathan, deputy managing director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd.
Recently the company shared the fact that the European markets are very much on the cards as far as the exports of Etios are concerned. It is still not confirmed that out of the sedan and the hatch version of Etios which will make an entry first. While the hatch competed with i20 and Swift, the sedan is looking at the market share of Dzire and Manza.
