Alibaba Starts Global Online Trade ForumChina's leading e-commerce company Alibaba commenced the operation of its novel online trading platform AliExpress to tap its global client base.

The beginning of AliExpress, an English e-commerce platform, which backs up smaller quantity orders, immediate online operations and an escrow service to defend purchasers as well as marketers, is aimed at the US market.

David Wei, chief executive officer of Alibaba stated, "AliExpress has being doing well since its trial operation starting from September 2009, and has fought into the top three of international online trade platforms."

"AliExpress is designed to help even the smallest businesses to be more competitive because they can offer customers more unique products, at better prices through the benefits to global trade. Our work with companies such as PayPal is crucial, because we want to make sure we are meeting the needs of our customers by making payment as fast, safe and easy as possible," Wei added.

Alibaba. com commenced a beta test of AliExpress during September last year. At present, there are over 3 million listed products from over 40 sections.
