According to research report produced by the USA-based market intelligence firm IDC, Android is going to be the fastest growing mobile software in the country.

Android is a mobile operating system owned by Google. The latest converged mobile devices known as smartphones will be the next leader in the global gadget market. As per the study of IDC, the product will surpass 390 million units.

Moreover, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the product is growing at 20.9% for the fiscal years 2009-2013.

IDC has also reported that earlier the market was dominated by BlackBerry, Symbian, and Windows Mobile. But the scenario has changed now. Mobile operating systems have become the key ingredient in the mobile device market. Although the market is highly competitive but Android based phones have managed to penetrate the market well.

Android mobiles of open standards and intuitive design and navigation like Mac OS X and webOS has managed to attract more number of customers now-a-days. These devices are also playing an important role in the buying process.
