According to Vice President - Technology, Media Guru Consultants, Mr. Sahaab Khan, HD is going to be the next big revolution in the television broadcasting domain. As per Khan, the technology has been a huge success in the markets of the developed nations. It has captured the US and Japanese markets removing SD. HD broadcasting has been a prime player in the global market.

So far as Indian market is concerned, the new HD broadcasting technology has just entered to the market with some of the channels. It has begun its applications with the channels such as Sakshi News and Discovery Channel. It was also used in broadcasting of the ongoing Indian Premiere League season three.

But the most important platform for this broadcasting technology will be the upcoming Commonwealth Games to be held in October 2010.

Moreover, Mr. Khan has also discussed some of the issues on implementation of the superior technology in India. Although the HD technology is supported by all the platforms of broadcasting but still the broadcasters in India need to look after certain issues while migrating from SD to HD.
