Toyota goes for another recall
If you thought that over 8 million recalls made by the world's largest automaker Toyota Motor Corporation were more than enough, the company has decided to ad to the grief for the consumers as the auto major has recently announced a recall of almost 600,000 Sienna minivans in the US and 270,000 in Canada due to the safety concerns in the corrosion in its spare tyre carrier.
The recall impacts various vehicles made in the 1998 to 2000 period that were mostly driven in cold temperature which may have caused corrosion and may lead to the falling of the spare tyre. Under the process, the vehicle owners will be asked to being their respective vehicles to the dealership for the purpose of inspection.
For the uninitiated, Toyota announced the recall over 8 million vehicles due to the brake problems and uncontrollable acceleration in certain products.
Notably, the Toyota brand is known for its quality worldwide but the latest recalls have only led to bringing ill effects to its brand equity. However, this recall is only adding to the woes of Akio Toyoda, President, Toyota Motor Corporation who has already faced a lot of criticism from the congress.
