Sony targets 30% of the market pie

Sony-LogoThe Japanese electronics giant is gearing up to capture fast the Indian LCD TV market with a staggering 30% market share.

Sony's current market share in the LCD TV market is 25 percent. It plans to capture the shelf-space by introduction of new range of LED range TV sets. It has introduced 24 new models in NX, EX and BX series under the Bravia shelter which varies between 22 to 60 inches at the same time it seeks to release its 3D range this June.

Takakiyo Fujita, Sony India General Manager (Marketing) told that it's the pillars of picture, quality and design which shall take Sony to the number one slot. He further expressed that the Indian consumer today is more technology savvy than ever before and with the launch of new technologies like 3D, Internet TV and LED, we want to ensure that they get nothing but the best.

However, in a bid to increase the figures of sale the corporation has doubled its sales and the outlets as well from 4 lakhs to 8 lakhs, 2,500 to 5,000 outlets respectively.
