Sony India Eyes Top Position In LCD Segment
Leveraging the freshly announced BRAVIA's ''high performance'' and ''monolithic design'', Sony India eyes to attain 30% share in LCD TV section in 2010-2011 from 25% in 2009-10.
Mr. Takakivo Fulita, General Manager, Marketing, Sony India said that the company will invest Rs 140 crore to boost its brand in the Indian market.
Moreover, the company plans to strengthen its sales to 800k units in 2010-2011 up from 400k units in 2009-10.
Presently, Indian LCD TV segement is estimated at 1600k units and is likely to surge to 2700k units in 2010-11.
In Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Fulita announced that Sony eyes 30% market share in the LCD TV section in Andhra Pradesh by the end of fiscal year 2010-11.
Sony India aims to sell 60,000 units of BRAVIA LCD TV's in Andhra Pradesh region during 2010-11.
Moreover, it has also planned marketing investment of Rs 10 crore towards multi-media promotional activities. With 400 outlets in the State, Andhra Pradesh contributes 10% to the overall sales of BRAVIA LCD TV in India. (With Input from Agencies)
