London  - The price of gold climbed to 1,145.95 dollars an ounce Wednesday as it hit another record high. That beats Monday's all-time record of 1,143.25 dollars per ounce.

The price of gold has risen by more than 35 per cent since the start of the year as investors seek safe investments in light of the weakening dollar and other financial turbulence like inflation. (dpa)
