New luxury BMW 7-Series rolls into showrooms
Munich - BMW's new top range 760i and 760Li luxury models are now available on European markets with a newly developed all-aluminum twelve-cylinder power unit providing improved performance and vibration-damping qualities.
Fitted with TwinPower Turbo technology, High Precision Injection and double-VANOS infinite camshaft adjustment, the unit has an output of 400 kW/544 hp with acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. Average consumption for the 760i is 12.9 litres with a carbon dioxide emission figure of 299 grammes per kilometre.
Design features of the new model include an extra-wide concave frame and contoured bars in the kidney grille, 19-inch alloys and an additional chrome bar at the rear.
Special luxury interior elements are an instrument panel finished in nappa leather and highlighted by elegant stitching, the roof lining and sun visors in alcantara as well as high-quality burr walnut interior trim.
The BMW 760Li comes with individually adjustable single seats. Standard equipment on both models are such features as four-zone automatic air conditioning, Park Distance Control and Automatic Soft Close on the doors. Among the options are a multi-channel audio system, a DAB double tuner, a DVD system at the rear, an additional iDrive Controller serving to mastermind entertainment and telecommunication and navigation functions from the rear seats.
BMW lists the basic price for the 760i on the German market at 134,900 euros (199,839 dollars) and 144,800 euros (214,500 dollars) for the 760Li. (dpa)
