Sony may launch Xperia X3 Android Phone By January
Leading electronic equipment manufacture, Sony, may introduce its first Android phone, the Xperia X3, during the first month of next financial year. The exact data for the launch may come after the release of the X2 handset based on the Windows platform.
Sony Ericsson, like other mobile manufacturers such as Motorola, reported a decline in demand due to global financial crisis. It now has all hopes pinned on Android that could stop its shrinking market share.
The Xperia X3, a pretty basic candybar phone, would come up with all user-friendly features incorporated using cutting edge technology. Its major attraction would include a Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset running at 1GHz, a 4-inch touch screen, 8-megapixel camera supporting 8x digital zoom, flash and auto focus.
The phone features a translucent display and is a perfect blend of artistic craftsmanship and modern technology that is not designed to target the mass-market. Sony would retail the handset via non-carrier retailer throughout UK, apparently by designing museum shops.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness candybar handset is said to be priced at approx. Rs. 42,165; and the company may release its specification list in the coming few weeks.
