Microsoft joins hands with Nokia
Software giant Microsoft and world's leading mobile phone supplier Nokia have entered into an alliance that will bring Microsoft 'Office Mobile' and other productivity software to Nokia mobile phones.
The move would enable Microsoft to expand Office Mobile to Nokia smartphone owners worldwide and allow them to collaborate on Office documents from anywhere.
At present, Office Mobile is only available in phones running the Windows Mobile operating system.
Under the latest tie-up, the two companies will begin collaborating immediately on the design, development and marketing of productivity solutions for business mobile users.
Further, it will bring Microsoft Office Mobile and Microsoft business communications, collaboration and device management software to Nokia's Symbian devices.
A company official, who is close to latest development said, these solutions will be available for a broad range of Nokia smart phones, starting with the business-optimized range -- the E-series.
