Kashmir solution inevitable: Musharraf
Islamabad, Feb. 8 : Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has said that a solution to the lingering Kashmir dispute is inevitable.
Expressing these views during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, Sardar Attique Ahmed, Musharraf assured the latter that maximum efforts would be taken to solve the problems of the region.
He also said that Pakistan would continue its moral, diplomatic and political support to the people of Kashmir.
According to Online News, he spoke of the various initiatives that have been taken by Pakistan to alleviate the sufferings of the Kashmiri people residing on both sides of the Line of Control.
“Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir dispute is crystal-clear and we will continue Confidence Building Measures. However, India must also show the same eagerness,” he said.
He was of the view that the leaderships in Pakistan and India were both determined to solve the thorny issue in a genuine and realistic manner. (ANI)
