Apple updates professional media tools – Final Cut Studio and Logic Studio
On Thursday, July 23, Apple released significant upgrades for the new versions of its film editing and audio design tools - Final Cut Studio and Logic Studio - thereby emphasizing the company's focus on its professional media tools lineup.
The new release for Apple's video editing tool Final Cut Studio would have a streamlined exporting ability to allow users to port their clips to YouTube, iPhone, iPod, MobileMe, Apple TV, DVD or Blu-ray.
The key update of the Final Cut Studio's new version, which sports nearly 100 new features, is an expanded video codec library, along with a ProRes editing tool update. Moreover, a new Easy Export option and support for project sharing and collaboration - by means of Apple's iChat software - are the other features of the new Final Cut Studio version.
Meanwhile, the upgrade for audio editing tool Logic Studio provides for the addition of an improved set of sound modeling tools, such as guitar amplifiers. The upgrade includes of a tool called Flex Time, which would enable users manage tempo in song recordings; along with an update to the Main Stage live performance management tool.
Apple has priced the new version of Final Cut Studio at $999 and the Logic Studio at $400. However, the existing users of the video editing and audio tools can avail the upgrade option at $299 and $199 respectively.
