Sidhi (MP), Apr. 4 : Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh''s daughter, Veena Singh, has filed her nomination papers as an Independent candidate for the forthcoming elections.

Veena, accompanied by her husband VP Singh alias Raja Baba, filed her nomination from the Sidhi Parliamentary seat in eastern Madhya Pradesh.

Singh''s nephew Amar Singh also accompanied her to the district returning officer''s office.

Arjun Singh''s son Ajay Singh and Veena had been in the race for bagging the Congress nominations from Sidhi and Satna seats respectively to contest the Lok Sabha elections.

However, the Congress High Command decided to give the seats to Union minister''s loyalist Indirajeet Patel and Ajay''s lieutenant Sudhir Singh Tomar from the Sidhi and Satna Lok Sabha seats respectively. (ANI)
