The overwhelming response to Tata's Nano can be gauged from the fact that there is an unprecedented customer excitement at the showrooms of car dealers for enquires as well as bookings of the small wonder! People are reportedly flocking the car showrooms to get hold of the booking forms!

However, all the frenzy surrounding Nano has put the dealers in a fix - more so as there is a constriction with regard to the production of the car, and dealers are already at their wits' ends about how to cope with the highly built-up customer demand for the reasonably-priced Nano.

As things stand at present, the demand-supply equation of Tata's Nano will apparently be a topsy-turvy one, for quite some time in the near future. Since the company intends offering only about 50,000 to 60,000 Nanos this year - with additional one lakh bookings - the dealers are would have a tough time, as nearly five lakh Nano bookings are already being projected.

Voicing the worries of most car dealers, Kailash Gupta, Director of Commercial Motors, said: "Everyone would be expecting a car from me being a dealer and my acquaintance with them and I would just not be able to provide a car. So I would be displeasing a majority of the people for at least a year and half."
