Osborne-Paradis gets first career win in downhill

Kvitfjell, Norway - Manuel Osborne-Paradis of Canada claimed his first career victory in the alpine skiing World Cup on Friday when he dominated a downhill.

Osbourne-Paradis, 25, conquered the 1994 Olympic course in 1 minute 47.09 seconds. His previous best result was a second-place finish in Lake Louise, Canada, in December 2006.

Downhill World Cup leader Michael Walchhofer of Austria placed second in 1:47.40 and local ace Aksel Lund Svindal was third in 1:47.56 minutes. (dpa)
