Shares fall sharply in Seoul
Seoul - Shares fell sharply Friday on the Seoul stock exchange as foreign investors sold stocks amid worries over the country's currency. South Korea's won slid to a three-month low against the dollar.
The benchmark Kospi index fell 41.15 points, or 3.7 per cent, to close at 1,065.95.
Declining issues outnumbered advancers 751 to 103.
The main index of the technology-heavy Kosdaq market plunged 17.53 points to 367.14.
On the currency markets, the US dollar was quoted at 1,506.0 Korean won, after trading at 1,481.0 won on Thursday. (dpa)
