Sterlite Technologies bags contract worth Rs. 1.4 billion from RVPN

Sterlite TechnologiesSterlite Technologies Ltd has announced that the company has won a contract worth Rs. 1.4 billion ($ 35 million) from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd (RVPN) India for manufacture and supply of ACSR Moose Power Transmission Conductors.

The company is a leading global provider of optical fibers, power transmission conductors, and telecommunication cables.

Sterlite was chosen as the sole manufacturer and supplier for over 5600 km of ACSR Moose Conductors that would be installed in 530 km route length of 400 KV S/C (Single Circult) and 180 km route length of D/C (Double Circult) Transmission Lines in the Indian state of Rajasthan, an official release said.
The conductors will be delivered from February through November 2008, it added.

Shares of the company were last trading down Rs 8, or 2.23%, at Rs 335. It has touched an intraday high of Rs. 352 and low of Rs. 332. The total volume of shares traded at the NSE was 1, 75,668. (1:30 p.m.).
