Baghdad  - Twin blasts on Saturday killed at least two people and injured five in the northern Iraqi region of Mosul.

The first bomb struck an army patrol in western Mosul. Two civilians were killed in the blast and another four were injured, including a soldier, a police source told the Voices of Iraq (VOI) news agency.

In eastern Mosul, another bomb struck an army patrol, injuring an Iraqi soldier, VOI reported.

Security has significantly increased across Iraq as Iraqis are taking more control from US forces. However, pacifying areas like Baghdad, Diyala and Mosul remain a challenge to security forces in Iraq. dpa
