CPI expresses shock over Benazir's assassination
New Delhi, Dec 28: The Communist Party of India (CPI) today expressed shock over the dastardly assassination of Pakistan former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, saying it is a serious set back to the ongoing process of revival of democracy in Pakistan.
“It shows that how far the terrorist outfits have penetrated in Pakistan. It posed a serious threat for the entire region, ” the release said.
The CPI also expressed its heart felt condolences to Bhutto's family, the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and the people of Pakistan.
“It hopes that the people of Pakistan will overcome the crisis and continues their struggle for restoration of democracy, ” the release stated.
Bhutto was assassinated on Thursday during a party rally in Rawalpindi's Liaquat Bagh area. (ANI)
