No hike in salary for IT employees
The Information technology companies posted decent result yesterday as the sector registered double-digit growth. The employees in the sector were expecting some steep hikes but the companies have disappointed them to a certain extent.
Member of the board and director, Human Resource, Infosys Technologies Ltd, TV Mohandas Pai has already shattered hopes of the high salary hikes to the levels of last year as he said that this possibility was highly unlikely.
He further went on to cite reason for the unlikely salary hike as the volumes might be better the pricing has failed to keep pace with it. The hike expected in the sector was not more than 8-10 percent. He further said that under usual circumstances in peak years, the average hike in salary is around 15 percent and could range to 20-21 percent.
The hikes were great last year and thus this year the scope of hike was minimal as the budget of overall salary has reduced. The inflation is causing worries to the employees and to add to that the EMIs have also increased.
