NMDC registers 48% surge in Q2 Net Profit

NMDC, the largest supplier of iron ore in the country, has registered net profit of Rs 944.93 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, a 48 per cent growth over the same period a year ago. 

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 640.02 crore in the second quarter of FY 2008.

Total income of the company went up by 45 per cent at Rs 1,857.27 crore in the quarter under review, from Rs 1,282.72 crore in the same period last year. 

NMDC Ltd is a state owned mining firm involved in the exploration of wide range of minerals including iron ore, copper, rock phosphate, lime stone, magnesite, diamond, graphite, beach sands etc.

Recently, NMDC has acquired 950 acres of land in possession for setting up a 3-mt integrated steel plant in Jagdalpur.
