Iron ore producer NMDC has declared its fourth quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2009-10 and its net profit has been marginally up this quarter.

The company has posted a net profit of Rs 1,065.59 crore for the quarter that ended in 31st March, 2010. This net profit figure has grown up by 4.34 % as compared to the same quarter in the preceding year. This has been informed by the firm in a filing at the Bombay Stock Exchange.

So far as the net sales of the firm are concerned, it has touched Rs 1,983.33 crore during the January-March period of fiscal year 2009-10. It was Rs 1,936.06 crore for the same quarter last year.

The annual net profit of the company was reported to be Rs 3,447.26 crore for the year under review from Rs 4,372.38 crore last year with a decline of 21%.

The board has decided to recommend a dividend of Rs 1 per equity share on the face value of Rs 1 each to the shareholders for the financial year 2009-10.
