Nissan Increases Micra Price
Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd has announced that it has raised the price of Micra, which is the company's largest selling flagship hatchback.
The price increase, which is for both Micra editions including petrol and diesel, will be between Rs 2,500 and Rs 11,170.
The petrol edition of Micra is available at a cost of Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5.35 lakh, whilst the diesel version is valued between Rs 5.6 lakh to Rs 6.1.
Prices will climb 2% crosswise all editions.
Kiminobu Tokuyama, MD and chief executive officer of Nissan Motor India stated that the growing input costs is the key reason behind the recent hike.
"There has been a steady increase in the input cost over a period of time. It has come to a situation now that the price hike is inevitable and we have decided to increase the price of Micra," Kiminobu added.
The Micra is the only car in the Nissan India collection, which is made from its plant at Oragadum in Chennai.
The other models commercialized in the Indian market by the 100% arm of Nissan Motors Japan comprise X-Trail, Teana and the 370Z.
As per reports, Micra is the biggest selling Nissan model in India.
Out of the 2,101 units sold during the last month, Micra's sales stood at 2,060 units.
