Nissan gets aggressive with distribution

Nissan-MotorsWhile the Japanese auto major can be considered as just an underdog as compared to the players like Toyota, Honda etc. which also belong to the same country but the bullish plans and aggressive strategy is surely making heads turn very easily.

In fact, the company has recently said that it has opened five more dealerships, taking the total number to 20.

While the five new locations being at Vijayawada, Bhopal, Jaipur, Navi Mumbai and Bhubaneswar, the press release issued by the company also mentioned the fact that opening of these five dealerships mark the Japanese automotive major's ability to reach commercial coverage in more than 46 per cent of the national territory. In other words, Nissan has established its presence in 13 India states so far.

Nissan Motor India MD & CEO Kiminobu Tokuyama, said that it was a short-term target for the company to reach 20 dealerships by July 2010 but the consumers will see a lot more about the company in the coming months.

It is to be mentioned here that the company has recently announced the launch of Micra in the Indian market.
