Nilekani’s UID set for a roll out
While it has taken a lot of time for Nilekani & CO. to finalise the details for the UID project in order to provide Indians with a unique identification card but the fact of the matter is that the Aadhar project of the Indian Government is expected to be rolled out in less than week from now. According to the sources, the UID authorities will kick-off the project by rolling it in the impoverished corner of tribal Maharashtra.
There is no denying the fact that it is one of the most ambitious projects of the Indian government and the success of this project will also determine the future course of action for the country.
According to the ambition of the project, it is aiming to provide identities to close to 1.2 billion Indians and keeping in mind that only 120 people are working on this project, the Delhi headquarters of Aadhar will be the talk of the town if the project matches the desired success.
Moreover, as the team is extracted from India’s state and private sectors, it is expected to be one of the smartest, flat and fast team involved in any of the government projects.
It may be noted here that apart from the headquarters in the National Capital, it also has an office at the Bangalore technology park and in seven states where Aadhar is close to launch.
