Nexus One with AT&T challenge iPhone

Nexus One with AT&T challenge iPhoneNexus One has joined hands with AT&T Inc. to come up with a totally new version of smartphone. This has been done in order to give direct competition to iPhone.

The new phone will run on AT&T's 3G platform.

As reports suggest, the older model which was released in January, was paired with T-Mobile's 3G networks and AT&T's older and slower network system. But the latest version, which is available on Google's website since yesterday, supports various frequencies that AT&T uses for 3G services.

This makes the new version a lot faster.

However AT&T's involvement in this model seems to be very limited as the carrier hasn't made any changes in the price structure which still comes at $529.

Spokesman from AT&T didn't comment on this progress. He instead gave out a general statement which says that they will support any platform which is compatible with AT&T.

This is an indirect mode of taking on rivalry as it appears to be pretty obvious that Google is challenging its contender since the release of Nexus One. What added fuel to fire was the case that Apple filed against Nexus One maker, HTC for patent infringement.
