New Windows Live Beta unveiled
In an event held in India, Microsoft Corporation India Private Limited showcased the “Windows Life Without Walls” campaign.
In this event, the next-generation of Windows Live that includes all new Web services was launched. Furthermore, the latest Windows Live also comes loaded with Windows Live Essentials, a free downloadable software and new third party social networking sites with changes being made to instant messaging, email, photosharing and Live Skydrive.
Hemant Sachdev, Joint Managing Director, Consumer and Online, Microsoft India informed, “Windows Live is the single place where people using our e-mail, messaging, photo-sharing and services can stay connected. Besides giving them a central place to organize and manage their information, Windows Live provides them a range of services and applications designed to work together across the PC, phone and internet, and the flexibility to decide how, when and where they can best use these services in their lives.”
Other advantages of the novel Windows Live suite are that the Windows Live SkyDrive now provides 25 GB of online storage and “tighter integration with other Windows Live services.”
Furthermore, Windows Live Hotmail now ensures to have spam filtering effective than before by 80 percent and offers a faster service.
One more essential benefit is that children can now be monitored by their parents via the Windows Live Family Safety feature by managing websites they can visit and also allows the parents manage the contact that kids communicate with using Windows Live Spaces, Hotmail and Messenger. The good thing is that parents can access this feature from anywhere they are online, by means of mobile, PC or from the internet.
Mr. Sachdev also informed about some other features, “The Windows Live People feature is for storage and management or Windows Live contacts and is central address book that keeps a track of phone book, Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live network contacts. To top it all, the Windows Live Messenger comes with more options for customization that includes what’s new feed with updates from contacts across the Web, drag-and-drop photo sharing in the conversation window, a favorites list to designate the most important contacts, and group IM to chat simultaneously with up to 20 people at the same time. It also lets users personalize their messenger with new scenes and video display pictures.”
By early 2009, the latest Windows Live will be made available for download in 54 countries in 48 languages at http://www.windowslive.com, but the beta version of Windows Live Essentials could be availed right now too.
