New Netbook by LG announced in Barcelona
The launch of the new Netbook, a predecessor of the LG-X110 Netbook released last year, was announced this week by LG Electronics at the GSMA Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona. It seems that the novel LG-X120 might become a worthy contender in the Netbook market as it offers an integrated 3G HSPA connection and a 160GB hard drive.
LG informed that the latest Netbook is equipped with a 'Smart-On' interface that allows the user to trace most frequently used programs just a few seconds after hitting the power button without waiting for the OS to completely load on the desktop.
Furthermore, the company's 'Smart-Link' technology that is capable of connecting to other computers to share files or install new applications via a USB cable is also incorporated in the LG-X120. The same also includes an advanced security function permitting users to safely share files while connected to other devices.
The users would also be glad to know that the Netbook, which comes in white with either a lime or pink outer detail, has a matte surfaced cover. This means that there would be no fingerprints, scratches or smudges there.
The net book measures at 1.3-inches tall x 10.4 inches wide x 7 inches deep and could be availed with either a three or six-cell battery.
Some additional features include:
1. Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
2. Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz Processor
3. 1.3 megapixel webcam
4. 1GB DDR2 RAM
5. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
6. 3 USB ports
7. 10.1-inch WSVGA screen at a 1024x576 resolution
8. SRS WOW HD and TruSurround XT for sound
As far as the availability is concerned, the LG-X120 Netbook would be launched in Europe during March this year. However, there were no announcements made about the U. S. release or how much it would cost.
