The mystery around the annual budget is overwhelming and come around every time the fiscal year comes to end. And to be able to remove some of the mystery around the whole thing, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said that the whole process of making the budget will be made available on public domain.

This will be the first time that the 216 pages long document will be made more accessible and understandable for all the stakeholders. During the release of first of its kind of budget, Pranab said that the government was reviewing various aspects of the exercise. This consists of constitutional provisions, structure of government accounts and budget preparation.

He was clear when he said that the budget should not be shrouded with mystery anymore.

Its annual financial statement of the nation as per Article 112 and every citizen of the nation should have the right to understand it.

The budget is prepared by the Budget Division of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA). It is a comprehensive document about the spending and revenue streams of an economy.
