Nehwal Loses In World Super Series SemisIndia’s Saina Nehwal failed to reach the finals of the World Super Series Masters Badminton championship, after losing to third-seed and world No. 6 Chen Wang of Hong Kong in semi finals.

The 18 year old Indian player tried her best but failed to match the experience of the third seed Hong Kong opponent and went down fighting 15-21 21-14 16-21 to bring down curtains in the prestigious tournament.

After losing the first set by 15-21, Nehwal made a strong comeback in the second set and won it by 21-14. However, she could not carried it further and lost the third set by 16-21 and the match.  

Earlier, on Friday Nehwal become the first Indian shuttler to reach the semi-finals of the tournament when she defeated Mew Choo Wong of Malaysia in the group league stage.

Saina defeated Wong 21-10, 17-21, 21-16 to claim her second successive win that catapulted her to the last four stage. Following her loss to Tine Rasmussen in the first game, Saina had to win both her quarter-final league matches and she did just that.
