Naxals kill three policemen in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Dec, 13 (ANI): Three policemen were killed and one seriously
injured in a Naxal attack on a police station in Bisrampuri in
Chhattisgarh’s Bastar District.

“An assistance sub-inspector and two head constables were killed on
the spot, while another constable was seriously injured, officials said.

"Over 50 armed Naxalites came in four vehicles on Wednesday night
and opened indiscriminate fire, and then triggered multiple landmine
blasts," they added.

According to sources, the police station had 15 security personnel without weapons or ammunitions.

Ironically, Chhattisgarh’s Director General of Police, Vishwaranjan, was present in Bastar District at the time of the attack.

Naxals claim that they are fighting for the rights of poor farmers and landless labourers.

According to the Home Ministry, 76 districts in Andhra Pradesh,
Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Maharashtra, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh,
Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are victims of the Naxal menace. (ANI)
