Mulally to remain ford CEO in 2014
Alan Mulally has dismissed suggestions that he is planning to move on from the top job at the company soon and affirmed that he would remain the Chief Executive Officer of Ford for the entire 2014.
There are some reports that the company's board of directors would let him leave the company for a high-profile job in the country. Sources have said that Mulally might be looking to for other opportunities including a post with the Obama administration and the board would let him go before 2015 to take on such opportunities. Mulally has said that he is committed to staying at Ford as its CEO through 2014, as stated in the company's succession plans earlier.
"There is no change from what we announced in November: Alan Mulally plans to continue to serve as Ford's president and CEO through at least 2014," said Ford spokesman Jay Cooney.
Mulally's name has also appeared as a possible choice to succeed Steve Ballmer as the head of software giant, Microsoft when he retires next year. Mulally has turned around Ford in North America and is aiming to expand its presence in Asia Pacific and address issues in the European and south American markets.
