MQM withdraws its PM candidate in favour of PPP
Karachi, Mar 22: Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's loyalists in National Assembly, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), has withdrawn its Prime Ministerial candidate Farooq Sattar in favour of the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) candidate.
Sources, however, said that the formal announcement would be taken only after consultations with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid
(PML-Q) leadership.
According to The News, the MQM took this decision after its Coordination Committee meeting in Karachi and London.
PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has been informed about the decision. The MQM hopes that Zardari’s party will reciprocate and will not disappoint it in future. (ANI)
