Dubai, Nov 21st, 2008 : The Ministry of Health (MOH) has stressed the importance of partnership between private and public sectors to achieve better production and service quality in healthcare and pharmaceutical industry.

Addressing a scientific conference organised by the Ras Al-Khaimah based pharmaceutical production company, 'Julphar' in Dubai to discuss new principles in the pharmaceutical sector and laboratory practices in the production of medicines, Executive Director Medical Practice and Licensing at the MOH Dr. Amin Husain Al Amiri noted that the ministry initiated the establishment of a supreme council for pharmaceuticals with the participation of all the national firms working in this sector.

Opening the conference on behalf of the Minister of Health HE Humaid Al Qattami, Al Amiri also called on the manufacturers of medicine to adhere to the principles of truthfulness and honesty in this vital sector.

Official delegations from 16 Arab and Asian countries are participating in the conference, which also discussed a number of papers on bio-medicines and their production. (WAM/AB)
