Mitsubishi Evolution to debut soon in India
The Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors is planning to bring its Evolution series of cars soon in the Indian market. In fact, it is believed that the company is also planning to launch a new variant of its sports utility vehicle, Pajero, in the Indian market with an aim to double its sales from the domestic market in the current year.
While the company sold nearly 2200 units in the last fiscal, it is aiming to sell close to 10,000 units in the Indian market by the year 2010-11.
Hindustan Motors executive vice-president and business head Vijay Kumar said that the company has just launched the Outlander in the Indian market and is planning to launch a new variant of Pajero in the next two-three months. It may be noted here that some news reports claim that the company was planning to pull off the Pajero from the 13 major Indian cities, due to the BS-IV norms application.
However, Kumar said that the company is working on the new variant and it will be soon available in the Indian market. The company is aiming for unit sales of around 80 units for the new Outlander, up from the 35-40 units it sold on an average earlier.
