New York, October 12 : Mischa Barton has decided to stay back in New York despite the cancellation of her show, `The Beautiful Life'.

The Brit-American actress explained the reasons at the Sony Vaio launch at Guastavino.

"I grew up in the city, so there''s a lot to love about it," the New York Post quoted the 23-year-old as saying.

"All my close friends are here. I feel it''s a fun city to lay low in and you get treated right," she added.

Speaking about her future career plans, the O. C star said: "There''s a bunch of projects I always wanted to make, so I''m going back to thinking about things again. I just started looking at films." (ANI)
