Microsoft likely to display Windows Phone 8 next weekSoftware giant, Microsoft is likely to showcase its new Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system at its upcoming developer event next week.

Microsoft's Windows Phone Developer Summit is scheduled for June 20 and 21. The company has not announced the location of the event yet but it is likely to be at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The company has promised “A sneak peek at the future of Windows Phone” at the event.

Meanwhile, a few screen shots of the new platform have appeared on the internet. The pictures show a new camera user interface for Windows Phone with a slider on the left side of the frame for zooming. The platform might also offer a button for changing between the front and rear-facing cameras.

The pictures also indicate that the platform will come with preloaded Skype sprogramme. Users will be able to use Skype for video as well as audio calls and Skype will be integration into the People Hub along users to easily make calls to contacts.

A new DataSmart feature will allow users monitor data usage on the phone, get up-to-the-minute stats data usage and time remaining for the billing cycle. The platform will also have a live tile that will show data usage and also give access to the DataSmart screen.
