Microsoft India Brings Out ‘HPC Server 2008’In order to fortify its commitment for a high performance computing, Microsoft Corporation India on Monday added another feather to its cap by launching the Release-to-Manufacture of Windows HPC server 2008.

Windows HPC server 2008 offers an easy-to-deploy cost-effective and scalable high-performance computing solution-which combines the power of Windows server platform with rich,out-of-the-box functionality to help enhance productivity and reduce complexity of any given HPC environment.

Besides this, the server also brings the following: open MP, multiprocessor interconnect and web services. It also backs a third party numerical library providors, performance optimisers, compilers, and debugging toolkits.

Announcing the launch, Pallavi Kathuria (Director, Microsoft India's Server Business Group) said, "The success achieved by Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 in the last few years is a strong testament of Microsoft’s value proposition in the high performance computing market. We are confident that as the successor, Windows HPC Server 2008 will help us further build on this momentum."

The company hopes that the server will be able to provide a better productivity of systems administration and gather interoperability by simplifying overall deployment administration and management.

Windows HPC Server 2008 will now be available to independent software vendors and computer manufacturers for final distribution.
