There seems to be no end to the number of pink slips that are being handed over by Microsoft Corporation. The IT behemoth, say news reports, is going to go ahead with another round of lay offs.

The information which was made public by a source who is close to the whole matter and did not wished to be named. The source said that this time the number of lay offs is going to be very less as compared to the last times.

As to how many are going to be the exact number was not revealed by the source. But the rumors suggest that the number will be less than 5,000, which the company did last year around this time.

All those who have closely studied the IT firm say that the lay offs done by Microsoft till now are the biggest in is its whole history.

The reason was obvious- the economic meltdown. Because of this, Microsoft lost many of its major clients along with a fall in the total revenue and also faced stiff competition not only in IT but also in the telecom technology.
